Privacy Policy for 0xArc Analytics

Effective Date: 3rd November 2023

Introduction

Welcome to the Privacy Policy of 0xArc Analytics ("0xArc", "we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protect and respect the privacy of our clients and their users. Upholding data privacy is of utmost importance to us, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as IP addresses, zipcode, or emails. This Privacy Policy outlines all the information that we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to ensure your data is secure. This Privacy Policy applies to the 0xArc analytics products and service that combine clickstream data (e.g. SDK data) on sites which host decentralized applications (dApps) with blockchain data such as connected wallet and submitted transactions. Any and all other 0xArc products or services may reference this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services"). By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services.

Information we collect

We collect non-personally identifiable information to help us understand how users interact with our Services. This data consists of the following:

  • General session data: We gather information about browser sessions, such connections, session duration and disconnections.
  • Clicks: We gather data on which DOM elements users click within a dApp, depending on SDK configurations.
  • Page visits: We track the pages users visit, allowing us to analyze user engagement, construct user journeys and quantify dApp retention.
  • Wallet connects: We monitor when users connect their Web3 wallets to associate session data with wallet addresses. However, this is could be omitted depending on wallet integrations (MetaMask vs WalletConnect vs ...) or could again be omitted depending on SDK configurations.
  • Transactions submitted: We collect data on transactions executed within the dApp, assisting us in constructing user behavior, wallet journeys and identifying transactions conducted through the dApp vs transactions conducted programmatically.
  • Wallet signatures: We record when users sign data with their wallet (transactions or otherwise). However, we do not store the resulting signature or it's associated data.
  • Referrer data: We track the sources that direct users to dApps, which helps us analyze traffic patterns and optimize marketing efforts, resulting in better acquisition and retention rates.
  • UTM tags: We use UTM tags to track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and identify successful strategies. We also collect any custom-configured UTM tags within our Services.
  • Browser metadata: We collect browser metadata like type and version and language locale to better understand users that are interacting with dApps.
  • Device metadata: We collect device types (Mobile vs Web vs ...) and screen sizes, viewports and os names and versions to help with the creation and analysis of wallet cohorts and user personas.
  • Geolocation data: We collect data related to user city and country, but do not collect any IP addresses, zipcodes or any other personally identifiable information that may be associated with users or wallet addresses.

Use of local storage

We use browser local storage to connect browser session data with web3 wallet addresses. This allows us to provide products with a seamless user experience while respecting the privacy of the wallet addresses.

How we use the information we collect

We use the information we collect to:

  • Improve existing products and services offered by 0xArc
  • Analyze user behavior and preferences of dApps
  • Generate aggregated reports for internal tooling
  • Develop new Services for 0xArc and it's customers
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries

Please note that we do not sell your information to third parties. We may, however, use your information in aggregate with our other Services to maximize your customer satisfaction. We do not share your data with our other customers, unless explicitly requested and agreed upon by all parties.

Data Security

We take the security of your information very seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes (but not limited to) limiting employee data access, data anonymization, specific development environments and database encryption.

Third-party services and SDK integration

Our analytics SDK is designed for businesses to install on websites, dApps or any other front-end application. We do not include links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or operated by 0xArc. However, the businesses that install our SDK may have links to third-party websites or other services on their websites, dApps and/or platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the behavior of these third-party websites and services. We encourage you to review the appropriate privacy policies of all third-party websites, dApps and/or platforms that may access the integration of our installed analytics SDK.
